You can change your Mouse Pointer to one that is more easily visible. Big Red Cursor is a favourite or the Large Black Cursor. Big Red has to be downloaded first but the Big Black Cursor is already installed on your computer.
Open Control Panel and Double Click on MOUSE then select the Pointers TAB.
Under SCHEME click the little down arrow to open the cursor Scheme Names and Select Windows Black (Extra Large) (System Scheme) and click on OK. Your mouse cursor will change to the Black Cursor along with all the other cursors like Busy.
There are several Schemes you can pick from.
In the example show above you will notice a RED Arrow Scheme. This has to be downloaded and created before you can use it.
To download the RED ARROW, go to this web site:
Scroll down the page until you find the section shown in the example below, and then click on HERE to start the download.
Select SAVE FILE and click OK. Note: This example is using the Firefox web browser to download and WinRAR up Un-Zip.
Right Click on the File you downloaded "RedCursors" and Select Extract Files.
A new Downloads Sub folder will be created called REDCURSORS. Just click ok when you see this window.
Open up Windows Explorer > Expand C:/Windows so you can see the Cursors folder, scroll up to the Downloads/Redcursor folder and move all the red pointers to the Windows/Cursor Folder as shown below:
Close Windows Explorer and open Control Panel/Mouse and select the Pointers tab as shown below.
Make sure Normal Select is selected as shown.
Click on BROWSE and the Windows/Cursors window will open as show below:
Scroll down until you see Big Red.
Double Click on Big Red Arrow.
Then click on SAVE AS and in the SAVE SCHEME window, enter the name BigRed and click OK.
After you click OK as shown in the above example, this window will open, Click APPLY and your cursor will change to the big red arrow.
If you want to change the other pointers like Help Select etc just select them and follow the same procedure. Click OK when finished.
